Capacitive Sensors
Capacitive proximity sensors are utilised to detect ferrous
and non-ferrous metals, materials and objects, detecting and measuring items that
are conductive or have a greater dielectric constant than air. Using an
electric field to detect objects capacitive sensors monitor changes in capacitance
in the sensing area which causes the sensor to change state. These popular
proximity sensors are capable of detecting materials in solid, powder and
granular form.
Capacitive
sensors are utilised in many applications, including – automotive, food and
beverage, injection moulding and process control. Durable and long-lasting, capacitive
proximity sensors come in a variety of types including shielded
and unshielded
and are very reliable and resistant to contaminants such as dust and spray
particles.
