I have worked at Kempston Controls for just over 10 years now, I was originally employed as part time, 4 hours a day, However when my circumstances at home changed management didn’t hesitate in offering me full time employment. I work in internal sales, which has doubled in size since I started and have seen the company go from strength to strength. I had no experience in this field, so was given excellent training and encouragement to help me in my day to day work. When I started at Kempston I did not have any real job experience, I was taken on as an apprentice for the quotes team with a 6 months’ probation period training in business administration. It was in this role I was able to expand my skill set and build confidence in my own ability with the help of other members of staff, as a result I passed my probation and I was contracted into a position as a member of the quotes team full time. In this position I progressed my skill set further and became the quotes team leader. The company has a strong motto of “do not be afraid to ask the same questions” which is great as it helped me to start and then progress in my role and be fortunate enough to work with people who make the job enjoyable.
