Fans are capable of moving large amounts of air with a low increase in pressure, typically you'll find these in your home or office. Whereas a blower is a device used for moving air with a moderate increase of pressure, simply put, a blower is a more powerful fan.

There are typically 2 variants of fan: The centrifugal fan, which changes airflow direction and can be used for highly contaminated air-streams. These fans are suitable for high temperatures and low and medium blade tip speeds at high pressures. The other fan type is an axial fan, there is no change in direction with this type and they are available as Vanaxial, Tubeaxial, and Propeller variants.

A blower is a device which increases air velocity and is mainly used for exhausting, aspirating, cooling, ventilating and so on. In a blower the kinetic energy of the blades increases the pressure of the air at the outlet. Motor driven, blowers can also be classified as Centrifugal and Positive displacement blowers.
