19 Inch Racking

19-inch racks are generally utilised in server rooms and data centres for housing computer servers, networking devices and data equipment. 19-inch racks are designed to help minimise valuable floor space and also help to organise and protect whatever equipment is stored within.

The name 19-inch racking comes from the physical width of the front panel of the storage racks themselves and the height measurement is known as ‘U’ (1.752 inches) and a standard rack cabinet is 42U in height (73.4 inches).
