ATEX Photoelectric Sensors

ATEX Photoelectric sensors (infrared sensors) utilise a beam of light that is either visible or infrared and it monitors that beam in three ways to trigger a process response. The reflective type of photoelectric sensor incorporates an emitter and receiver in the same device bouncing the beam off the target. Retro-reflective sensors are similar in functionality but use a separate reflector to monitor detector beam interruption. Lastly, through beam photoelectric sensors use a separate transmitter and receiver and rely upon the target item breaking the light beam. 

Common applications for ATEX photoelectric sensors include the flour and wood processing industries, chemical, oil and gas processing, safety gates and doors in ATEX Zones and certain automotive applications.
