Absolute pressure sensor ICs are used to measure pressure relative to a perfect vacuum. They are normally used to measure changes in barometric or atmospheric pressure and the reading type is absolute. They can be used in weather stations and altimeters. They contain a fixed pressure which they use as a reference, and the pressure measurement calculated is relative to that pressure.
