RoHS Directives

From July 2006 the RoHS (restriction of use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) 2002/95/EC directive became law. In order to comply, you will need to demonstrate that your products do not contain more than the maximum permitted levels of:

  • Lead
  • Mercury
  • Cadmium
  • Hexavalent Chromium
  • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs)
  • Polybrominated diphenly ethers (PBDEs)

Kempston Controls is a distributor and does not manufacture or design the products we sell; however, we fully committed to the aims and requirements of the RoHS Directive and will be able to confirm the status of individual part numbers and predict compliance dates, provided the relevant information is available from the manufacturer.

Many of manufacturers have now finalised their compliance plans and will issue their statements regarding the directives as well as offering compliance details on an individual part number basis.
