How do Pushbutton Switches Work?
Found in process control and manufacturing applications, during operation they are used to complete an electrical circuit once pressed, which triggers a further operation such as shutting down a machine.
Most pushbutton switches operate in the same way, pressure is placed on the actuator, depressing the spring and closing/opening contacts which either closes or opens the circuit. Generally found in 2 types - momentary switches are on when pressed, off when released, and non-momentary (alternating) stay on when pressed and release when pressed again.
