ATEX Zener Isolation Barriers

An ATEX rated Zener Isolation Barrier is a device that limits the voltage and current entering a hazardous Atmosphere, whilst operating in such an area itself. The voltage is limited by a Zener diode and the output current is limited by an output resistor, a fuse is also used in the circuit to protect the Zener diode. As per any intrinsically safety equipment, an ATEX rated Zener Isolation Barrier allows cables to short circuit to each other or to metallic parts connected to ground without causing dangerous situations.
