Colour Sensors
Colour sensors function by shining a light onto a particular
object and measuring the reflected light radiation to calculate the colour of
an object. Surface irregularities may cause issues with the light refracted back
to the sensor so care must be taken to ensure that a colour sensor is suitable
for the task at hand.
Colour
sensors are suitable for a wide variety of applications including printing,
packaging, food and beverage and the pharmaceutical industry where colour
consistency of a product is an important factor. Colour sensors are also
suitable for sophisticated applications such as astronomy applications where
they are used to measure the colour of stars and other astronomical objects.
