Personal Protection Equipment - PPE
Personal Protective equipment, where necessary, should be provided by the employers to ensure that operators who may be exposed to possible injury are adequately protected. This could be in the form of steel toe capped boots, safety helmets, high-visibility vests, chain-mail gloves, warning signs, respirators and so on.
The needs for PPE must be identified through a risk assessment of the various processes and operations involved, such as the need for wearing hearing protection in noisy environments, or safety goggles if there is a chance of CNC machining debris hitting someone in the eye.
