Phototransistors

A Phototransistor is a semiconductor device that is more sensitive than a regular photodiode to light, sensing ambient light levels and using them to create a respective electrical signal.

Phototransistors detect forms of light including Infrared, visible light or UV and as a result will alter a current flowing between an emitter and collector, depending on the light and level of intensity it receives.

Some of the benefits of a phototransistor include: small form, ultra-thin, high sensitivity, electromagnetic noise resistance, higher current than photodiodes. A phototransistor can be used in many different applications including industrial electronic systems, air conditioning, computers, security devices and much more.

Kempston Controls stocks a select range of phototransistors. Give our sales team a call on +44 (0) 1933 411411 or use the contact form above to discuss your Phototransistor requirements.
