LED indicators are a type of lamp generally used within control and display panels to display when a change occurs in a processing system or electrical circuit. A malfunction in an electrical system could trigger a coloured LED indicator lamp to illuminate as an alert that an issue has occurred. Other applications include dashboard lights in vehicles and phone voicemail systems.

In comparison to regular light bulbs, LED’s are far more energy efficient and they have a much longer lifespan and there is no warm-up period after being turned on, like fluorescent lights, instantly reaching their peek brightness.
