I FEEL YOUR PAIN, after working as an electrical maintenance engineer for over 30 years, I was normally the person on the other end of the phone looking for the obsolete part, after working at Kempstons for 6 months as part of the technical support sales team, I wish I knew then what I know now, working life would be so much easier.

I joined the company in December 2016. Straight from Secondary School I was looking to climb the ladder in my confidence and my qualifications. Being able to earn whilst gaining a qualification at the same time sounded great for me. Having no experience in this industry I struggled at the start but with the help and training from Kempton Controls I was able to do the work I’m currently doing. Kempston Controls has a fantastic office environment with the family friendly staff.Working together....

I have worked at Kempston Controls for just over 10 years now, I was originally employed as part time, 4 hours a day, However when my circumstances at home changed management didn’t hesitate in offering me full time employment. I work in internal sales, which has doubled in size since I started and have seen the company go from strength to strength. We are a very family oriented business and you will find that we have many members of staff that also have family members working here. Together we make a great team.

I started at Kempston’s nearly 6 months ago and everyone is so friendly and always willing to help as best as they can. They encouraged me to ask questions if I was unsure, if I made a mistake they would show me what I had done wrong and how to do it for future reference. All of the Employees whilst doing our work to the best of our abilities will find a way to have some fun with some banter and will include everyone. No-one is ever left out or made to feel like the odd person, no matter whether you are just starting out at the company or have been working here for many years.

I joined the company in June 2015, as after working in the Civil service for nearly 20 years needed a new challenge!! I had no experience in this field, so was given excellent training and encouragement to help me in my day to day work. Kempston controls is a very family friendly company and from day one I have always felt comfortable in my surroundings.

When I started at Kempston I did not have any real job experience, I was taken on as an apprentice for the quotes team with a 6 months’ probation period training in business administration. It was in this role I was able to expand my skill set and build confidence in my own ability with the help of other members of staff, as a result I passed my probation and I was contracted into a position as a member of the quotes team full time. In this position I progressed my skill set further and became the quotes team leader. The company has a strong motto of “do not be afraid to ask the same questions” which is great as it helped me to start and then progress in my role and be fortunate enough to work with people who make the job enjoyable.
